We have heartwarming news from Fostoria that’s perfect for the holiday season. Habitat for Humanity, along with Pantry Plus of Seneca County and The United Way of Fostoria, has been doing something really special – we’ve set up Blessing Boxes all over the city!
What are Blessing Boxes? They are wooden boxes, also known as a little free pantry, filled with food and toiletries for anyone who needs them. And the best part? These new boxes were built by students from Fostoria City Schools.
These boxes are not just about giving; they’re about sharing and caring for each other in our community. You can take what you need or leave some items for others. It’s all about helping out and making sure no one goes without the basics.
The box at High Street Methodist Church, built by Leadership Seneca County, has been around for over a year and it’s been a huge success. It’s amazing to see how quickly it gets filled up and emptied again.
This whole thing goes to show that when we come together as a community, we can do great things. It doesn’t matter if you’re part of an organization or just a kind-hearted soul in the neighborhood – every bit of help counts.
Let’s keep this spirit of giving alive, especially during the holidays. Whether it’s dropping off some canned goods or picking up a couple of items you need, every little action makes a big difference.
Here’s to a community that cares!
